The Capability Divide: How AI Made Our Defences Better and Our Risk Worse

AI is improving our cyber capabilities dramatically: faster detection, deeper analysis, whole classes of vulnerability disappearing for those using the latest models. But these capabilities are not evenly distributed, and a capability divide is opening between those with access to frontier AI and those without: a small tier of AI-native organisations pulling ahead, and everyone else. But attackers don’t care, and they’ll AI-driven tooling at defences built for a pre-AI era.

The result is a widening gap that most organisations haven’t noticed yet and that few are positioned to close. This session is about seeing it clearly, and what European defenders should do before it hardens.
