Johanna Vierimaa and United Imaginations specialise in translating digital concepts into tactile, physical forms. Ducktail captures malware discovered by WithSecure in a woven textile where it can no longer unravel security.
The DUCKTAIL pattern visualises the nature and behaviour of the malware it shares its name with. The overlapping tiles symbolise its ability to fly under the radar, while immortalising the design in fabric represents its eventual capture and control. Since DUCKTAIL was discovered by WithSecure, it has been commemorated through a visual representation—captured in a pattern where it can no longer unravel security.
