WithSecure presents "The Cyber Hive"
Welcome to The Cyber Hive, a collaborative mini-conference event run in association with DiSH (Greater Manchester Digital Security Hub), where we’ll be promoting and sharing the amazing local cyber security knowledge and experience found across Manchester.
What will the day look like?
This event will aim to promote awesome cyber security knowledge and experience in Manchester. For this, WithSecure's cyber security consultants will present two talks: on cloud security & attack detection on Linux operating systems. Throughout this, input and experiences will be offered up by industry attendees, businesses in the DiSH network, and other cyber security experts in the Manchester scene.
The day will also feature a workshop event, discussing hot topics across cyber, such as AI, SaaS and ransomware. This will include lightning talks from some of the industry attendees.

Talk 1 - Attack detection on Linux: James Henderson, Security Consultant at WithSecure, will be speaking about purple teaming techniques on Linux operating systems. Exploring TTPs such as malicious command usage, web shells & fileless malware, and free & open source tooling to detect these. And comparisons to better known techniques on traditional Windows assessments.
Talk 2 - Cloud security: Chris Philipov, Senior Security Consultant at WithSecure, will be speaking about the modern issues with cloud IAM and some misconfigurations we've observed against large and SMB orgs as well as a discussion on approaches to handle remediations. Chris has spoken at many industry conferences such as BlueTeamCon and fwd:cloudsec in the past.
Lightning talks & workshops: WithSecure staff, alumni now at other orgs, and other industry attendees talking about key topics, including AI & its security implications, DevSecOps & secure-by-design approaches, and other areas. These will be brief talks followed by group-based table discussions to explore key themes of interest. We're keen for this to be as collaborative as possible.
