WithSecure facilitates Ukraine and Finland cyber cooperation

On April 22, we welcomed members of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine, Finland’s NCSC, and representatives from the Finnish Parliament to WithSecure’s headquarters in Helsinki, Finland.

The purpose of the discussion was to foster closer cooperation in the cyber security domain between Finland and Ukraine, and advance commitments expressed by the Finnish Government in the joint Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by Presidents Zelensky and Stubb.
WithSecure deeply appreciates Ukraine's extraordinary capabilities in not only physically defending its territory, but also protecting its digital infrastructure and sustaining innovation under the most challenging circumstances.
Kyiv has spent the past two years fighting off an unprecedented number of cyber-attacks. WithSecure stands ready to act and support the Ukrainian people with its technologies, while learning how to better protect against these attacks in the future.
We are also ready to look for ways to provide technologies to help rebuild Ukraine with modern cyber security technologies that provide pro-active protection, such as exposure management and detection and response capabilities on the ground. We also stand ready to assist and contribute to Ukraine's cyber security initiatives.
This is an opportunity to show the world that Europe truly has strong cyber security technologies and capabilities – WithSecure’s technologies are able to protect organizations in Ukraine, a country where the most advanced cyber-attacks are being targeted.
As one of Europe's longest-established cyber security companies, with roots dating back 35 years, WithSecure is ideally placed to offer our cyber technology, experience, and knowledge to benefit both Ukraine and Europe as a whole.
WithSecure is deeply committed to strengthening Europe's cyber capabilities. This is especially important during these times, when the geopolitical environment is in a state of change and the continuous support to Ukraine from different nation states is no longer self-evident. As a result, we believe that co-operation in Ukraine would also contribute to enhancing Europe's collective cyber resilience.
Summing up the discussions in Helsinki, Nataliya Tkachuk, Head of Cyber and Information Security Directorate, National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine, said: “We are looking to develop Ukraine’s cyber security capabilities with European partners, and it would be great to deepen the co-operation with Finnish technology providers such as WithSecure to help us prepare for and prevent advanced attacks against our country.”
